Africa's Most Populous Cities

Lagos has recently overtaken Cairo as Africa's most populous city.

According to World Atlas, Lagos has a population of 21 million, Cairo 20.4 million, and Kinshasa 13.3 million. The next most populous city in Africa is Luanda (Angola) at 6.5 million.

Wikipedia gives the population of Cairo in October 2018 as 9,700,000 ("City") and 20,439,541 ("Metro"). Lagos was 6,048,430 in the 2006 census, but Wikipedia gives a 2012 estimate by the Lagos State Government as 16,060,303. It gives the "Urban" population of Kinshasa as 11,855,000 in 2017.
